Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny commented on the Dozhd TV report on social networks about his complete isolation in the colony and the abuse of the leadership. “I understood that it would be something like this. Do not forget that my younger brother Oleg served 3.5 years in the same case. Well, I didn’t fall from the moon, I know how things work in our country,” – said in a statement posted on Monday November 8th on his Instagram account.

The politician confirmed that in IK-2 in Pokrov he is in isolation and “a prison in a prison” and does not know about anything other than that which concerns him personally. “I’m just in shock from something. For example, from the story that the hairdresser was beaten for talking to me. We really exchanged a few words with him. I was still thinking – where did he go?” – he wrote.

Accusations against Putin

At the same time, he accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of the situation in the colony. “It is clear that all this suits Putin. The handwriting of a psychologically unhealthy person who revels in power and has deep problems in the field of obsession with sexual orientations is clearly visible here,” Navalny is sure.

At the same time, the oppositionist stressed that it is “much easier for him than the others.” “About prisons in Russia, one should not use my example, but generally speak. Lawlessness, murders, inhuman fascist torture have long been the norm here,” he added.

“Dozhd” report on Navalny’s isolation in the colony

Earlier, the Dozhd TV channel reported about the bullying that is being subjected in the Navalny colony. Former prisoners of IK-2 Nariman Osmanov and Yevgeny Burak, who were with him in the same detachment, spoke about the circumstances of Navalny’s detention in the report. According to them, the oppositionist is in complete isolation, all prisoners were instructed to prohibit communication with him. And when Navalny was in the hospital during a hunger strike, a film was shown in the colony on his birthday, in which the oppositionist is presented as gay, Osmanov pointed out. This information was confirmed by Burak.

During Navalny’s hunger strike, a prisoner with an allegedly open form of tuberculosis was put next to him, which turned out to be a staging, Osmanov said. In addition, according to him, on one of the days of the hunger strike, “half a bag of sausage” was fried in the kitchen so that the smell made Alexei Navalny stop the protest. For the first three days after returning from the prison hospital, Navalny was not allowed to sleep, putting a prisoner on the next bed, who made “different sounds” at the direction of the leadership, Osmanov said further.

Pursuit of Navalny

Alexei Navalny was detained in January 2021 immediately after returning to Russia from Germany, where he underwent treatment and rehabilitation after being poisoned with a Novichok-class war agent. On February 2, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow replaced Navalny’s suspended sentence of 3 years and 6 months in the Yves Rocher case with a real one, serving in a general regime colony for 2 years and 8 months. Later, the court commuted the sentence. Taking into account the served house arrest, the oppositionist will spend about 2.5 years in the colony.

Lawyers and associates of the politician have repeatedly pointed to the deteriorating state of his health, the impossibility of transferring the recommended medicines and torture with sleep deprivation. From March 31 to April 23, the oppositionist went on a hunger strike in protest against the fact that doctors were not allowed to visit him. Currently, the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating several more cases against Navalny and a number of his closest supporters.
