The operator Naviera Armas has formally submitted a request to the Port Authority of Las Palmas (Spain) to obtain a public concession in functional area three of the service area of the port of Las Palmas.

The company intends to occupy a plot of 5,285.66 m² in this area of the Canarian port public domain, allocating it specifically for the storage of goods and vehicles.

In response to this request, those responsible for the Canarian enclave have initiated the project competition process. So, during the period of one month, the opportunity will be opened for other applications related to this dock space to be presented.

It is worth mentioning that Naviera Armas plays a crucial role in the transport of rolled cargo, moving trucks, platforms and containers from the ports of Cádiz and Huelva to the Canary archipelago.

In addition, the company strategically connects Ceuta from Algeciras, Melilla from Málaga and Almería, as well as the Moroccan ports of Nador and Al Hoceima from Motril and Almería. It also establishes routes to Tangier Med from Algeciras, and connects the Algerian enclaves of Oran and Ghazaouet from the Port of Almería. In the Canary archipelago, its inter-island services facilitate the connection between the eight islands.

Apart from managing new requests to occupy spaces, the Port of Las Palmas has recently received authorization from the Council of Ministers in its last session to proceed to the tender for a contract for the construction of new cargo control facilities in the port area. .
