Armas Trasmediterranea Shipping Company has announced that it revalidates its ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, thus highlighting its commitment to the quality of its processes, services and its ability to face today’s environmental challenges.
The renewal of the first certification, ISO 9001, is mainly due to the implementation of a Quality and Environmental Management System in the company’s internal processes. This standard has become a reality through audits, guaranteeing the full involvement and awareness of all workers in its execution.
It is worth mentioning that, throughout this process, an external audit carried out a great job by the entity Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). Through this recognition, the successful integration of the Quality and Environmental Management System is valued, making it possible for Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea to accredit its aspiration to the continuous improvement of the quality of the company. Apart from focusing on improving customer satisfaction, it also identifies opportunities and risks, and initiates corresponding action plans.
Regarding the ISO 14001 certification, the Quality and Environmental Management System has been approved and is implemented throughout the organization. This is proof of Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea’s commitment to the Environment, thus enhancing its emphasis on raising awareness among staff and implementing measures to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, the firm has constant control of the KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) to know where to act at all times.
On the other hand, the board of directors of the Las Palmas Port Authority has granted on March 27, 2023 a public domain terminal to Naviera Armas in Puerto del Rosario. It is a maritime merchandise terminal that will be able to operate for a period of eight years, which will be dedicated to private use.
