The Pelicans got their first win of the year with Brandon Ingram redshirting and Zion Williamson, while the Grizzlies, Hornets and Hawks had narrow victories.
Pistons – Pacers 109-115
The Pistons wouldn’t want to repeat last season’s losing streak, but the start wasn’t ideal. Despite fighting and going into the final twelve minutes with a lead, they saw the Pacers go on a 19-33 run and beat them 109-115 in the final.
Cade Cunningham had a great performance with 28 points and 8 assists, but the Pistons missed a touch from three-point range in the final period. Myles Turner finished with 20 for the winners, Pascal Siakam (8 points, 9 assists) and Benedict Mathurin added 19, and Tyrish Halliburton scored 15.
Hawk – Nets 120-116
A darby that went to the end at the State Farm Center in Atlanta, the Hawks eventually won. Trae Young’s team, who scored 30 points, got their first win of the season 120-116 over the Nets.
Young’s two strikes reached the end, with Onyeka Okongu top-scoring with 28 and he was the ideal partner in the win. The goal of Cam Thomas who scored 36 with 7/13 three-pointers was thus overcome but did not give his team the victory.

Lonzo Ball’s battle with the Houston Rockets won the first one. Ball led the Hornets to a 105-110 opening win in Houston that saw Jaylen Green and Alperen Senghun score 28 and 25 respectively, with the latter adding 18 rebounds to his score, but his offense was getting stuck in the final game and lost six difference of 18 points!

Pelicans – Bulls 123-111
Another year began with expectations for the Pelicans, with a bet of course that their health will remain in the final game. However, the first win came against the Bulls with 123-111, although Zion Williamson (infection) missed his first season.
Brandon Ingram and his 33 points were enough, with CJ McCollum finishing the job with 23 more and Dejude Murray … achieving a triple double with 14 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds. LaVine and Vucevic led the Bulls with 27 and 21, respectively, and Josh Guiday had 14.
Jazz – Grizzlies 124-126
Ja Morad’s baskets and Desmond Bain’s comfort from the shooting line gave the Grizzlies their first win of the year 124-126 at the home of the Jazz. In such a close game, the personalities of the Grizzlies played their part, because despite the absence of Jaren Jackson JJ they achieved victory. With Aldama, Bain and Morad scoring 27, 24 and 22 respectively, although the Markkanen’s 35 points were not great enough for the losers!
