NC Dinos’ promising pitcher Han Jae-hwan (23) hit four consecutive home runs in the minor leagues.
Han Jae-hwan started as the 4th batter and 3rd baseman in the 2024 Futures League (2nd team) game against Goyang Heroes held at Goyang Baseball Stadium on the 30th and achieved 4 consecutive home runs.
Han Jae-hwan hit a ground ball to third base in his first at-bat in the first inning, then hit a solo home run over left-center in his second at-bat in the fourth inning, a two-run home run over center in his third at-bat in the sixth inning, a solo home run over center in his fourth at-bat in the seventh inning, and a solo home run over left-center in his final at-bat in the ninth inning.
Han Jae-hwan’s final score that day was 4 hits in 5 at-bats (4 home runs), 4 runs, and 5 RBIs.
Han Jae-hwan, who joined NC in the 2nd round, 8th overall pick in 2020, is in his 4th professional season this year. His Futures League performance this season is a batting average of 0.255, 11 home runs, and 35 RBIs.
This is only the second time since 2010 that four consecutive home runs have been hit in the Futures League.
Previously, on April 11, 2018, Lee Seong-gyu of the National Police Agency hit four consecutive home runs in a game against the KIA Tigers 2nd team.
Han Jae-hwan said after the game, “Coach Gong Pil-seong, Cho Young-hoon, and Yoon Byung-ho told me to trust in the training and play boldly,” and added, “I’ve been feeling good lately and tried to maintain that feeling. Focusing on every at-bat was the reason I was able to hit well until the end.”
He emphasized, “I will stay healthy for the rest of the season, and I will definitely achieve my personal goals in offense, defense, and defense, and I will definitely seize the opportunity when it comes.”
