Sarath Pawar: Nationalist Congress Party Will Not Form Alliance with BJP

Solapur, Maharashtra – The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will not join forces with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) despite attempts by some well-wishers to convince them, said NCP President Sarath Pawar. Speaking to reporters in Sangola, Solapur district, Pawar asserted that an alliance with the BJP is not in line with the NCP’s political policies.

“Any association with the Bharatiya Janata Party is not compatible with our political policy,” Pawar firmly stated. “As the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, I make it clear that my party (NCP) will not go with the BJP.”

The declaration comes amidst speculations that a secret meeting took place between Sarath Pawar and Ajit Pawar, both prominent leaders within the NCP. The meeting is considered significant in Maratha politics and reportedly occurred at the bungalow of industrialist Atul Sordia in Pune. The purpose of the meeting remains unknown, with NCP leader Amel Mitkari suggesting it could be related to familial matters.

While the NCP holds 54 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), it remains unclear how much support belongs to Sarath Pawar and how much is aligned with Ajit Pawar. The rift between the two leaders became apparent when Eknath Shinde left Shiv Sena along with 40 MLAs and joined the BJP as Chief Minister. Subsequently, Ajit Pawar broke away from the NCP to become the Deputy Chief Minister.

The steadfast refusal of the NCP to align with the BJP demonstrates the party’s commitment to its own political principles and policies. As Maharashtra’s political landscape continues to evolve, observers are eager to see how this decision will shape the forthcoming political scenarios within the state.
