NCERT retains Mughals section in history textbook

by time news

According to NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani, the claim that the history of Mughals has been removed from the new history textbook prepared by NCERT for class 12 students is false. Last year, an expert committee was formed to discuss curriculum cuts due to the coronavirus pandemic. The committee recommended that burdensome areas may be deleted, but necessary subjects should be kept for students’ knowledge development. NCERT is working according to the National Education Policy’s guidelines that state the course load for students should be reduced. A national curriculum framework for school education is being developed, and the textbooks will be printed in 2024 as per the policy. NCERT has not removed the history of Mughals from the textbook. Those who don’t know about it can refer to the textbook.

New Delhi: NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani said that the Mughals section was not deleted from the history textbook.

It has been reported that the history of Mughals has been removed from the new history textbook prepared by NCERT for class 12 students to be taught from the coming academic year 2023-24. In this case, NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani says: “The report that the history of Mughals has been removed from the history textbook prepared by NCERT for class 12 students is not true. That is a lie.

Curriculum cuts were discussed last year to ease the pressure on students due to the coronavirus pandemic. An expert committee was constituted for this purpose. In its recommendation, the committee said that the subjects which are necessary for the development of the knowledge of the students should not be deleted and the burdensome areas may be deleted.

We are working as per the guidelines of National Education Policy. The National Education Policy states that the course load for students should be reduced. We implement it. A national curriculum framework for school education is being developed. It will be finalized soon.

The textbooks will be printed in 2024 as per the National Education Policy. We haven’t given up anything for now. The debate that NCERT has removed the history of Mughals from the text book is unnecessary. Those who don’t know about it can refer to the text book,” NCERT director Dinesh Prasad Saklani said.
