As NCT’s Taeil (30) was accused of a sexual crime and left the team, the schedules of NCT members were also affected.

On the 28th, Soundwave announced, “We would like to inform you that the Jaehyun 1st album ‘J’ fan signing event scheduled for the 29th has been temporarily postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.”

On the same day, SM Entertainment announced that Taeyang had been accused of sexual assault and was leaving the team, and NCT member Jaehyun’s fan signing event was also postponed.

Along with Jaehyun, the schedules of Mark and Haechan, members of NCT 127, which Taeil was a part of, were also put on hold.

On the 28th, WithMu said, “At the request of the agency, NCT Dream, which was scheduled for today (the 28th) at 10 PM, [드림 ( )스케이프] We would like to inform you that the schedule for the commemorative video call event ‘Mark, Haechan’ has been temporarily postponed.”

It appears that the schedule was adjusted to protect the artist, out of concern that attention would be focused on the members after news of Taeyil’s sexual assault indictment was reported.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment released an official statement on the 28th, stating, “We have recently confirmed that Taeil was indicted in a criminal case related to sexual assault.” They continued, “While looking into the facts, we realized that the matter was very serious and decided that he could no longer continue team activities. After discussing it with Taeil, we decided on his withdrawal from the team.”

SM Entertainment added, “Taeil is currently cooperating faithfully with the police investigation, and we will provide additional information as the investigation progresses.” They continued, “We deeply apologize for the controversy caused by our artist.”

Taeil debuted as a member of NCT in 2016, and as the main vocalist, he performed the highlight parts in major songs. He was also a member of the unit group NCT U and NCT 127, where he was in charge of vocal parts and led the team’s tone.

Taeyang had to temporarily suspend his activities after getting into a car accident while riding a motorcycle home last August. Due to the accident, he was unable to participate in NCT 127’s third tour, ‘NEO CITY-THE UNITY’, held in November last year.

Taeil participated in NCT 127’s 6th full-length album ‘Walk’ released in July and led the team’s activities as the main vocalist, but with this decision to leave the group, he will no longer be able to be with NCT.
