“Send a message of stability and continuity in the European elections“, declared the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during the presentation of the 42 candidates of New Democracy for the European elections of June 9. After calling all the candidates “excellent”, he noted that the blue European ballot brings together various “currents in the broad bed, this is the ND of 2024”.
“In this European ballot paper, people from different paths meet, representing different professional areas, representing all corners of our homeland, but also every corner of Hellenism worldwide”, emphasized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the presentation event of New Democracy’s candidates in the upcoming European elections .
Commenting on the European ballot, the Prime Minister spoke of people “who can be housed together under the same political roof, which unites different currents in this great bed of democratic modernization and progressive patriotism. This is the New Democracy in 2024, this is the European ballot, which will claim the support of the citizens”.
And he noted: “today we didn’t just listen to a presentation. But we may have participated in an explanation why New Democracy is today the largest party in our country and one of the strongest, if not the strongest, center-right party in Europe.”
“We are the party of Europe”
The Prime Minister expressed the certainty that the new Eurogroup that will be elected on June 9 “will be able to represent us worthily in a European Parliament and in a Europe that will face many and great challenges in the next European cycle. And of course the ND must be strong in these great challenges”.
“We are the party of Europe. We are the party that put Greece in Europe. We are the party that kept Greece in Europe. And we are the party that consistently brings one step closer to Europe every day and in every policy field”, he added.
K. Mitsotakis said that “the great beauty of the selection with a cross is that each and every one of you is given the opportunity to study these CVs and always make the best choice according to your own unique criteria. And that’s why this whole process matters so much. Because finally on June 9th we will be called first and foremost, who will represent us in the next European Parliament”.
Mr. Mitsotakis concluded by saying: “Let’s give the ND a gift for its 50 years, an electoral victory, a strong New Democracy.”
Earlier, each candidate had 1 minute to introduce himself.
Among others, the elected mayor of Chimara, Fredi Beleris, who remains in prison, is participating in the ND’s European ballot paper.
