In a traffic accident that happened at noon last Friday on the Nea Kiou-Nafplio beach road, a 39-year-old driver of one of the vehicles involved lost his life, causing sadness and anger in the local community. She was a mother of two children.
Two others were seriously injured and taken to Argos Hospital. The collision occurred when three vehicles collided, one heading towards Nea Kios and the two towards Nafplio. The driver who caused the accident was reported to be driving 170 km, because at this speed the speedometer got stuck. It is noted that cameras recorded him running very fast at another point before the collision.
The news of the death of the 39-year-old woman has mobilized dozens of citizens, who are demanding justice and punishment for the person who committed the crime.
The residents of Nea Kiou express their concern for their safety and ask the authorities to take action to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
An eye witness who was the victim of the driver in the same traffic accident informed Mega that “the punishment must stop here. I am lucky in my misfortune. I remember the whole scene. As we are going towards Nafplio, at 50-60 km, suddenly the gray car comes at 160-170 km and the left rear part of the car hits first Nadia, then me and then it hits the column.”
