The Ministry of Health is updating the corona morbidity data this morning (Wednesday). The coefficient of infection continues to gallop upwards and reaches 1.53 – which indicates a spread at a faster rate of the plague.
Last night, 120,000 corona tests were performed, of which 2.48% were positive, the highest percentage being close to three months. A total of 2,967 new verified, a particularly high number compared to recent months.
The number of patients admitted to hospitals defined as in a serious condition stands at 88. of them; 39 connected to the ventilator, a slight increase over the past day.
As of this morning, the number of red localities is increasing from 4 to 7: Ma’ale Adumim, Tzur Hadassah, Kiryat Ono, Rishon Lezion, Mevaseret Zion, Yad Binyamin and Shtulim.
Of the 30 localities in the orange and red colors, there are no ultra-Orthodox concentrations.
The number of victims from the outbreak of the virus increases in the deceased, to 8,243 who did not die.
Cabinet decisions: Removal of countries from the red list and renewed regulations for the education system
Shortly after midnight, members of the Corona Cabinet approved the Ministry of Health’s recommendation to remove most countries from the red list and, yes, to add Mexico to the list. The validity of the decision to remove most of the countries went into effect last night, and the validity of the decision to turn Mexico red will begin tonight at midnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
In addition, the ministers confirmed that fifth- and sixth-graders in red cities, in whose class a verified coronavirus student was found, would move on to study in a ‘contact reduction’ format, i.e. online learning or outdoor learning.
First- and fourth-graders in red cities, whose class has been found to have a verified coronavirus-infected student, will also go on to study in a “reduced contact” format but are not committed to it “as much as possible,” according to the Prime Minister’s Office statement.
These decisions went into effect tonight and will be valid until Sunday. Also, after its members refused to support the previous regulations, these (renewed) regulations are now before them in the Knesset Education Committee.
