Nebula to represent Spain in Eurovision 2024 with their song “The Debt” (Kalva)

“The debt” (in Hebrew “Kalva”) is the name of the song that will be performed by the duo Nebula (Nebulossa) who will represent Spain in Eurovision 2024 which will be held in Malmö, Sweden, on May 11. The duo won the Spanish pre-Eurovision “Benidorm Fest 2024” and was chosen by a panel of judges consisting of 50% of the total vote, 25% from a representative sample and 25% from the general audience. The song is performed in Spanish only.

During the performance you can see the lead singer dressed in a black jumpsuit and two dancers by her side. The performance begins when you see the singer’s shadow on a red background and then the drummer and the other member of the duo join. The vocal performance of the singer is not the most accurate even though the song is not difficult to perform. The dancers dance sensually and in the middle of the performance they take off the black suit and continue dancing with a black corset with their buttocks exposed. It seems that during the entire performance, the audience screamed the lyrics at the top of their lungs.

The members of Nebulosa won first place at the festival with 156 points when it was ranked first by the jury and the general audience while the representative sample ranked the duo second. The singer came in second place San Pedro (St. Pedro) which was placed first in the early bets. St. Pedro also ranked first in the judges, but fourth in the representative sample and fifth in the audience results. The singer came in third place Angie Fernandez (Angy Fernández) who was ranked third in the judges’ vote, second in the representative sample’s vote and finally third in the audience’s vote.

• Guilty Milky Way (Guille Milkway) – vocalist of the band “Azul”, producer and DJ.
• Angela Carrasco (Ángela Carrasco) – creator, singer and actress.
• Carlos Bautista (Carlos Baute) – singer, composer, actor and host.
• Lee Smithhurst (Lee Smithurst) – producer for the Eurovision competitions on behalf of the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC, was responsible for the production of the Eurovision 2023 show in Liverpool.
• David Tzeronian (David Tserunyan) – head of the Armenian delegation to Eurovision.
• Marta Piacarska (Marta Piekarska) – head of the Polish delegation to Eurovision, chosen afterTwan van de Nieuwenhuizen (Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen), the head of the Dutch delegation could not take part in the festival.
• Nikulin Rafsing (Nicoline Refsing) – the artistic director of Eurovision 2014.

Nebulosa – who are you??

The Spanish duo was created by Maria Bass (María Bas) who serves as the lead singer of the duo, andDesusa soup (Mark Dasousa) serves as producer. The duo started operating in 2020 and since then they have released 13 singles and one album. Their music is mainly synthpop and they create music based on the sounds and melodies of the 80’s. Their song “Glam” was chosen as the best song of 2021 by the jury of Indie Cool.

Before participating in the festival, they were on tour between different festivals in Spain and now they will represent their country in Eurovision 2024, in Sweden.

Eurovision 2024: This will be Spain’s 63rd participation in Eurovision. Spain joined the competition in 1961 and won it twice in a row in 1968 and 1969. Spain hosted the competition on its territory only once in 1969 and since then holds the longest waiting time since its last victory – 54 years.
