The Independent Parliamentary Group has stated that the talks with State President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Leader of the Opposition Sajid Premadasa have been successful.
During the talks, it was reported that an agreement had been reached to stabilize basic services, form an interim government and hold parliamentary elections.
It has also been reported that MP Udaya Kamanpila has said that the people can choose whomever they want.
