Following the failure of government talks, bank employees’ unions have announced that they will go on strike tomorrow as planned.
Bank employees’ unions have announced a two-day strike to demand the repeal of a bill to privatize public sector banks. No agreement was reached during the talks on August 8, and the next round of talks was held at the office of the Additional Commissioner of Labor Welfare in Delhi, chaired by Additional Commissioner Joshi. It was attended by all the bank employee unions. There was no consensus in this meeting either.
The bank employees’ unions have announced that 10 lakh bank employees and officials across India will go on strike on the 16th and 17th as planned.
