Negotiations with Iran: Israel and England on a common front

by time news

With the arrival of Foreign Minister Lapid last night in London, the Foreign Ministries of Israel and the United Kingdom announced this morning that they will sign a trade and defense agreement today that will ensure cooperation between the countries on security issues for ten years.

It seems that the main issues that will appear in the agreement will be the improvement of the cyber security capabilities of the two countries and the coordination of positions and cooperation to prevent Iran’s armament with nuclear weapons.

Against the background of the return today to the negotiating table between Israel and the powers in Vienna – Israel is making an effort to prevent a return to an interim agreement only. A senior European source claims that with each passing day negotiations with Iran become much more complex.

In Vienna, Austria, nuclear talks between Iran and the superpowers will begin today. In Israel, they want to condition the holding of the talks on stopping uranium enrichment. Jerusalem fears that following the talks, some of the sanctions imposed on the regime in Tehran will be lifted.

The foreign ministers of Britain and Israel, Liz Trass and Yair Lapid, published a joint article in the British Telegraph today in which they state that they intend to work “day and night to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.” The two wrote that “the clock is ticking and increasing the need for close cooperation with partners and friends to thwart Tehran’s ambitions.”
