Hubli: A surprising incident has come to light in Karnataka. Angered by her repeated rejections of his advances, a 24-year-old boy murdered a student. The girl was an MCA student at KLE Technological University. What is also shocking is that the incident did not happen in any isolated area but in the corridor of the BVB campus of the college itself. A video of the incident is also going viral on social media. It is seen how Fayyaz attacks the student passing by with a knife and inflicts several wounds on her body. The seriously injured student was taken to KIMS hospital, about 2 km from the campus, but she died on the way. Another shocking thing in this case is that the boy did not study in this college but he came inside the college and carried out such a big incident. According to eyewitnesses, after indiscriminately attacking the student with knives, Fayyaz tried to run away from the campus, but Within an hour of the incident, he was caught by the students and staff of the institute. Police were called and he was handed over.
Neha was ill for the past few days
The student has been identified as Neha Hiremath. Neha was the daughter of Congress councilor Niranjan Hiremath. It is being told that the boy Fayyaz Kondikoppa is a resident of Savadatti in Belagavi district. According to the police, Neha could not go to college for two months as she was recovering from typhoid and came to the college on Thursday to appear for the exam.
Attacked as soon as he came out of the examination hall
People told that after the exam, when Neha came out of the room, the boy already standing there attacked her with a knife. She was beaten on her back and neck until she fell down drenched in blood.
Friendship is love
It is said that the boy and the girl used to study UG course together. The two became friends while studying together. Mistaking friendship for love, Fayyaz proposed Neha. Neha rejected this proposal and from then on she started breaking up with him. When Neha’s family members also came to know about this, they asked Fayyaz to stay away from Neha. After this incident, the parents used to take the daughter to college and bring her back.
lapse in campus security
KLE Technological University Vice-Chancellor Dr Ashok Shettar said the campus with 10,000 students has ‘always on security’ and there is no margin for error. He said, ‘We will increase security arrangements and appeal to the students and parents to let us know if there is any issue related to the life or future of the students.’
