Neo-Nazi rapper “Mr. Bond” before a jury in Vienna at the end of March

From March 29, the neo-Nazi rapper “Mr. Bond” will have to answer before a Viennese jury because of National Socialist activities. The hearing is scheduled for two days, the verdicts – the brother of the 37-year-old is also accused of side issues – should fall on March 31st. Among other things, the indictment accuses the Nazi rapper of having glorified National Socialism, Adolf Hitler and the mass extermination in the Third Reich with his music and videos.

The Nazi rapper gained notoriety in the relevant scene by rewriting popular hits and distributing the new versions via the Internet or releasing them on five CDs. The rock ballad “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”, with which Bryan Adams landed a worldwide number 1 hit 30 years ago, became an anti-Jewish violent fantasy. Even before a rewrite of the Band Aid song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” he didn’t stop. The indictment includes several dozen hate songs directed not only against Jews, but also against people of color, homosexuals and Muslims.

Born in Lienz, he also shared a video paying tribute to the Christchurch attacker in New Zealand, who killed 51 people in two mosques in March 2019. He also translated his “Manifesto” into German. In his rap songs, the man claimed the supposed supremacy of the white race. According to the indictment, the right-wing extremist violent criminal who wanted to break into a synagogue in Halle an der Saale on October 9, 2019 used one of his numbers. During the planned live stream of the failed assassination attempt on the Jewish community, the man played a work by “Mr. Bond”.

“Mr. Bond” has been in custody in Vienna since January last year. In his cell, he is said to have received letters from fans from all over the world. Donations for the 37-year-old and declarations of support were collected in relevant forums. A few months ago, a flag reading “Free Mr. Bond” was even hung out of a window across from the State Criminal Court.

The 37-year-old is said not to have commented on the allegations against him. He was tracked down based on a PayPal account with which payment flows – according to the indictment, income from the sale of his music – could be verifiably assigned to his person from the point of view of the law enforcement authorities. “Mr. Bond” is said to have made his living from it.
