In a statement to the market, Neoenergia (NEOE3) informed its shareholders and the market in general that it signed a financing agreement with the Official Credit Institute (ICO).
The contract has a total value of US$ 100 million.
This is green funding linked to ESG targets, such as the percentage of female electricians in the company and the reduction in the rate of carbon emissions in its units, which will be measured in 2026 and, if achieved, there will be step-down in the debt spread.
Its term is in force for ten years, with a three-year grace period for the principal.
This is the first direct ICO financing for a company in the energy sector in Brazil and the first Sustainability Linked Loan signed by the ICO in America.
Neoenergia affirms that the financing contract now signed reinforces the company’s wide access to credit lines at competitive costs and terms, in addition to reiterating its strategy of diversifying financing sources to support the development of its business plan.
