Kathmandu: The bodies of 22 passengers have been recovered from the crash site as it was officially announced that 22 people aboard the plane that crashed in Nepal have been pronounced dead. The black box of the plane was also found. This has been confirmed by the Nepalese Army.

In Nepal, Tara Air operates public flights to tourist destinations. On Sunday (May 29) morning, a small 9 NAED plane carrying 22 passengers, including 4 Indians, 2 Germans, 13 Nepalese and 3 Nepalese crew, took off from Bokaro Airport in Nepal with 22 passengers on board.

Within 15 minutes of the plane’s departure, it disappeared from the radar view of the control room at the airport. Authorities subsequently launched a search for the plane. After an intensive search, it was revealed that the plane had crashed into an icy foothills near the Himalayan Thavalagiri peak. The plane was found crashed on the mouth of the Moti Lamche River on a hill in the village of Goang in Nepal’s Mustang district. Rescue operations resumed yesterday morning. Rescue workers collected parts of the plane, the bodies of the passengers and their belongings.

Indian family killed in accident: The Government of Nepal has released a list of 22 people who died on board the plane. This includes 4 Indians. They are identified as Ashok Kumar Tripathi from Pune, Maharashtra, his wife Vaibhavi Pandeykar, son Dhanush and daughter Rithika. They died in an accident while visiting temples in Nepal.
