Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister has been stripped of his post by the Supreme Court

Nepal’s Supreme Court has stripped Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamisan of his post.

A dual citizen cannot contest elections or hold office in Nepal. As a result, Robbie Lamisan had renounced his US citizenship.

At the same time, Robbie Lamisen did not apply for Nepalese citizenship.

As a result, the Supreme Court has removed Robbie Lamisan, who has no citizenship, from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and from the post of MP.

His lawyer said that after getting Nepalese citizenship, he will contest again in the by-elections.
