Nestlé USA Recalls Toll House Cookie Dough Due to Wood Fragments

Nestlé USA has issued a recall for some of its Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough due to the potential presence of wood fragments. The recall specifically applies to two batches of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough “break and bake” Bar, according to Nestlé’s notice.

The affected batches were produced on April 24 and April 25 and were distributed to retailers nationwide. While the company did not specify which retailers were impacted, it emphasized that there have been no reports of illnesses or injuries from the recalled products.

The decision to recall the cookie dough was made out of an abundance of caution when a small number of consumers contacted Nestlé regarding the issue. The company stated that no other products, including refrigerated cookie dough in “break and bake” bars, rolls, tubs, or edible cookie dough, are affected.

For consumers who have purchased the affected batches labeled as 311457531K and 311557534K, Nestlé advises against preparing or consuming the product. Instead, they should return it to the retailer for a replacement or refund. The company assured customers that it considers this an isolated issue and has already taken steps to address it.

Nestlé is fully cooperating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in this voluntary recall. The company expressed its sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused to both consumers and retail customers.

Wood fragments or foreign objects in food products pose a potential risk to consumer safety, hence the concern surrounding this recall. Nestlé’s proactive approach and swift action in ensuring the quality and safety of its products serve as a testament to its commitment to consumer wellbeing.

Consumers are encouraged to stay informed and updated on product recalls to avoid potential health hazards.
