Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered on July 25 that an Israeli delegation be sent to continue negotiations on the Gaza deal.

As reported by Day.Az with reference to TASS, the Prime Minister’s Office reported this.

“Netanyahu gave the order to send a negotiating delegation for further talks next Thursday (July 25),” the statement said.

The office noted that on July 21, the prime minister held a “detailed discussion” of the issue of releasing hostages held by radicals in the Gaza Strip with members of the Israeli negotiating team and representatives of the country’s security system.

Netanyahu will fly to the United States on July 22, where he plans to meet with White House President Joe Biden on July 23. The Israeli prime minister is scheduled to address a joint session of both houses of the US Congress on July 24.

On May 31, US President Joe Biden announced the terms of a new draft agreement on a peace settlement in Gaza, which consists of three stages. The first is designed for six weeks and implies a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from populated areas, the release of hostages held by the Hamas movement in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons. During this period, the parties must begin negotiations, and the ceasefire will remain in effect until mutual understanding is reached.
