Senior Likud officials are telling Srugim tonight (Sunday) that Netanyahu prefers a right-wing government headed by him in the current Knesset, and if that does not work – then elections.

Earlier today, following reports that quite a few ultra-Orthodox Knesset members are not interested in the election but in the formation of an alternative government in the current Knesset, MK Miki Zohar from the Likud validates and says that they are making a bitter mistake.

“The absolute majority of right-wing voters only want Netanyahu as prime minister,” Zohar clarified. He said: “Everything is being done so that Netanyahu will be in the authority of the government that will be formed, whether in this Knesset or in the next Knesset.”

Zohar sharpened his tone and said that “if there is anyone who thinks it is good for him to sit with Meretz, Labor and there is a future, a bitter mistake is probably wrong.”

As stated, in contrast to the previous election campaigns, the Torah Judaism Party is expected to make it clear to Benjamin Netanyahu that their support is not in his pocket and if he is interested in continuing to maintain the ultra-Orthodox bloc, he will have to prevent elections.

According to the report in “Here 11” a few weeks ago, the party is expected to demand a public statement from Netanyahu according to which he will work to form an alternative government already in the current Knesset and will not lead to elections.

The party, for the first time in many years, intends to present this to Netanyahu as a condition for the continuation of the alliance between him and the Haredi party house.
