According to Tal Shalu’s report on the Walla website, Netanyahu set next Wednesday as the deadline for the formation of the government in closed talks. Netanyahu takes into account that he will have to satisfy the 57 government – with the Knesset members of Otzma Yehudit and the ultra-Orthodox factions – without the religious Zionism that will join later.

Netanyahu’s move was built on his assessment that Smotrich would not vote against the right-wing government. However, Ben Gvir made it clear that he would not enter the government without religious Zionism.

The political commentator of News 12, Amit Segal, published last night the content of the conversation between Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu, and the chairman of religious Zionism, Bezalel Smotrich.

According to the report in News 12, Netanyahu reprimanded Smotrich for his demands for the treasury or security portfolio, telling him: “Don’t forget that thanks to me you united with Ben Gabir and you have 14 mandates.”

Smotrich attributed the overthrow of the government to him and told Netanyahu: “Don’t forget that Silman left the coalition thanks to me, followed by Auerbach, and thanks to my opposition the partnership with Ra’am became illegitimate.”

In the meantime, at the same time as the crisis with religious Zionism, Netanyahu is trying to create a conflict between Smotrich and Ben Gabir, and published a statement last night about Ben Gabir’s achievements in the coalition negotiations. The Likud announcement states that “tonight there was significant progress in the coalition talks between the Likud and Otzma Yehudit.”
