In a surprising turn of events, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has regained his lead over State Chairman Benny Gantz in a recent survey on who is best suited for the position of Prime Minister. This marks the first time in two months that Netanyahu has surpassed Gantz in public opinion, according to the survey published yesterday evening.

The survey, conducted by Manu Geva in collaboration with iPanel, asked participants to choose their preferred candidate for Prime Minister. Netanyahu secured 39% of the votes, while Gantz received 34%. The previous survey conducted on the same question had shown opposite results.

Interestingly, when pitted against opposition leader Yair Lapid, Netanyahu’s dominance becomes more prominent. Netanyahu received 42% approval ratings, whereas only 26% of participants believed Lapid was the suitable candidate for Prime Minister.

The survey also delved into public perception of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett after his interview with the British BBC network. The results showed that Netanyahu again took the lead with 39%, while Bennett closely trailed Lapid with 25%.

The resignation of Tel Aviv district commander Ami Ashad, citing political interference as the reason, also prompted questions about public opinion. Participants were asked to choose between Ashad and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir. The results revealed that 48% of participants sided with Ashad, while only 28% supported Ben Gabir.

Additionally, the conduct of the police during the recent demonstration in Nativite Ayalon garnered criticism. Participants were asked to assess how the police handled the protesters in demonstrations against legal reform. The survey showed that 38% of respondents felt that the police acted too lightly, 30% believed their conduct was appropriate, and 18% felt the police acted too harshly.

The shifting dynamics in public opinion indicated by this survey highlight the ever-changing landscape of politics in Israel. As the race for Prime Minister intensifies, it remains to be seen how these numbers will influence the upcoming elections.
