Hadas Klein, Arnon Milchen’s personal assistant, testified during the hearings in the Netanyahu trial. She claimed that Likud chairman and former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife received many gifts, which included cigars and champagne. And raised a number of interesting questions.
He said, “The claim that this is Sarah at all and not Benjamin Netanyahu is a good and serious defense claim. However, regarding the cigars, it is known that the person who smoked them was Netanyahu himself – therefore, the line of defense is very separate. He raised the question: “Will the prosecution be able to prove that the benefits were given to them as a couple, as one thing?”
Kara added that “from yesterday’s testimony, and although everything still has to be cross-examined, there are many signs that Netanyahu knew all the details and following Sarah’s shouts, he called Klein and told her he had checked all the legal matters and she was allowed to give Sarah everything she asked.” And argued that this story is a good claim, but also a good defense.
“In the end,” the commentator concluded, “this whole gossip thing, we need to look at it in the mirror of the method – if it’s really a story of gifts, then it’s one story. If it’s something done on demand that creates pressure as Klein claims, “The question is whether he is also a criminal.”
