This morning (Tuesday), the testimony of the key witness in the gifts case (Case 1000), Hadas Klein, will continue in the Jerusalem District Court, in the trial of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is the seventh day of Klein’s testimony and the fourth of the cross-examination of Adv. Amit Hadad – Netanyahu’s defense attorney. This week marks the end of the trial year, so the cross – examination of the witness will continue in September.

After Klein are expected to testify Jonathan Hasson, Milchen and Packer’s driver who according to Klein’s testimony was the one who moved the boxes of champagne. He will be followed by two cousins, Packer’s house mother.

In recent days, Haddad has tried to prove that many of Milchen’s guests enjoyed cigars and champagne and not just Netanyahu. Haddad also tried to show that Klein could not know the exact quantities of shipments of cigars and champagne bottles, because Milchen’s driver, Jonathan Hasson, was the one who actually made the shipments.

Another direction of investigation was regarding Netanyahu’s awareness. Haddad claimed that Netanyahu was aware in individual cases of the transfer of the gifts. In addition, it was alleged that there were mutual gifts between the Netanyahu couple and the businessmen.

In the main investigation, Klein testified about a supply chain of cigars and champagne bottles from billionaires Arnon Milchen and James Packer to the Netanyahu couple, along with buying jackets, T-shirts for Netanyahu and jewelry for Sarah Netanyahu. All this at the request of the couple.

The indictment attributes to Netanyahu fraud and breach of trust in the amount of NIS 690,000, while interfering in Milchen’s affairs in various matters, including the promotion of obtaining a visa from the United States.

*** Presumption of innocence: It should be emphasized that Benjamin Netanyahu is only a defendant, has not been convicted of an offense, and has the presumption of innocence.
