/ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Tel Aviv categorically rejects international dictates regarding a permanent settlement with the Palestinians, and will continue to oppose unilateral recognition of the Palestinian state.

Netanyahu’s statements came after a phone call with US President Joe Biden.

On his account on the X platform, Netanyahu wrote: “I made clear in the cabinet session my position on the recent talk about imposing a Palestinian state on Israel,” adding: “My position can be summed up in the following two sentences”:

1. Israel categorically rejects international dictates regarding a permanent settlement with the Palestinians. Such an arrangement will only be reached through direct negotiations between the two parties, without preconditions.

2. Israel will continue to oppose unilateral recognition of the Palestinian state. Such recognition in the wake of the October 7 massacre would give a huge reward to unprecedented terrorism and prevent any future peace settlement,” Russia Today reported.

On Thursday, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected any discussion at this time about establishing a Palestinian state, considering that the priority at the current stage is “victory over Hamas.”

Meanwhile, the Washington Post reported that the United States and several Arab partners are preparing a detailed plan to reach a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and Palestine that includes a “firm timetable for the establishment of a Palestinian state.”

The war in Gaza has entered its 132nd day, while the specter of a humanitarian disaster looms over Rafah, which is awaiting an Israeli military operation, amid negotiations in Egypt regarding a truce and the release of prisoners and hostages.
