Dan Netanyahu, son of the late judge Shoshana Netanyahu and cousin of Prime Minister Netanyahu, spoke this evening (Saturday) at the demonstration of the Movement for the Quality of Government and the protest organizations against the legal reforms.
Netanyahu: “The especially blatant demand to actually appoint the judges of the Supreme Court – including the President of the Supreme Court – by the members of the Knesset, together with the enactment of personal laws beneficial to the members of the Knesset who refused, means the cancellation of the independence and independence of the judiciary.”
“The enactment of a superseding clause that would prevent the disqualification of unequal or personal laws, by the High Court of Justice, would immediately lead to the abolition of the Supreme Court and the loss of public confidence in the judicial system.”
Dan Netanyahu turned to his cousin, the Prime Minister: “Remember. Your current actions are the legacy you will leave behind to the entire world and to the public in Israel who defends the values of democracy and the rule of law, with all that implies.”
