No Parisian ring road, but the green mountains of the Alps. Ousmane Diakité and François Monge, alias Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte, will soon meet for a new investigation. Nine years after the cinema release of “On the other side of the ring road”, the suburban cop and his Parisian colleague are back in action in “Far from the ring road”, which will be available on Netflix from May 6 and which we will let’s unveil the trailer exclusively.
This time, the improbable duo must elucidate the mystery of a corpse, half of which is found in a Parisian station… and the other of which will be discovered hundreds of kilometers away.
Diakité and Monge will work on a settling of accounts between dealers, before realizing that they are facing a much more dangerous affair. While “On the other side of the ring road”, which attracted 2.3 million cinema viewers in 2013, was directed by David Charhon, this new action comedy is directed by Louis Leterrier, the filmmaker of “Elusive” or “Clash of the Titans”, which also directed Omar Sy in the first three episodes of the series “Lupin” (also on Netflix).
It is Stéphane Kazandjian, who collaborated with Franck Gastambide on “Taxi 5” or “Pattaya”, who signs this ultra-paced, hyper-entertaining, often schoolboy scenario… Where the tandem that everything opposes drives flat out on bumper cars, crosses a supermarket on a motorbike or do stunts in the mountain by car. Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte are joined here by actress and singer Izïa Higelin, who embodies a provincial police officer who seems uneventful.
