Streaming service Netflix announced that the number of subscribers of the budget tariff with ads has grown to 5 million. informed Reuters, citing a company presentation.
Netflix launched a new subscription format with $7/month ads in November 2022 (the ad plan is not available for children). The company took this step in order to attract low-income buyers and oust competitors. In seven months, the company managed to attract 5 million subscribers. In total, about 232.5 million users use the service.
The company also wants to create a new format of advertising – half-hour commercials-serials, which will be shown in parts before viewing the content for several days. Only on the streaming service is this format possible, according to Netflix, as viewers don’t usually watch just one channel.
