The plot of the series, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Elin Hilderbrand, follows Amelia Sachs as she prepares to marry into one of the wealthiest families in Nantucket. Her future mother-in-law, the famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, disapproves of her and doesn’t care about the expenses involved in organizing the season’s highly promising first wedding – until a body washes up on the beach.
