Netflix’s Bad Movie: Disney Plus has made a comeback

But how exactly does it affect?

These days a new but veteran player is entering the streaming market, his name is “Disney Plus”, and this is a good time to try to analyze how this service has affected the Israeli television market, Israeli art and original productions, should the government intervene here and where does it all go? Daniel Ophir, spoke with Dr. Yuval Guzensky, a children’s media researcher from the Department of Communication, Sapir Academic College.

The streaming service, Disney Plus by the Walt Disney Company, was launched in Israel on June 16. The price of the monthly subscription is NIS 39.90, and an annual subscription costs NIS 399. The streaming service will include original content and thousands of movies and series from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic and more.

Exactly two months ago, the company announced that it would go up in 42 countries, including Israel, South Africa, Poland and the United Arab Emirates. The streaming service first aired in November 2019 in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands. Since then it has also been launched in dozens of other countries like France, India UK and Belgium. The service in the United States costs eight dollars a month.

Among the series that came up in the company and were a great success – “Wanda Vision”, “Loki” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” by Marvel Studios. Also airing exclusively at Disney Plus are the “Mandelorian” and “Doll Pet Book” shows from Lucasfilm Studios.
