Netzagentur: Transmission error with gas level | free press

A level of 95 percent was reported yesterday – an “important mileage” in gas levels. And today it’s already below that again. The network agency gives the all-clear.

Bonn.

According to the gas storage association Ines, a significant drop in the filling level in German gas storage facilities reported on the website of Europe’s gas infrastructure operator (GIE) is due to a data error. Ines Managing Director Sebastian Bleschke told the German Press Agency on Saturday that the capacity of the Uniper Epe H-Gas storage facility had not been reported. This led to the decline.

On Saturday morning, the GIE website showed that the German gas storage tanks were only 89.56 percent full. On Friday, however, the website reported a fill level of 95.14 percent. This level was also specified by the Federal Network Agency in its management report. Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (Greens) described reaching the 95 percent mark as an “important milestone”. For the Epe H-Gas storage facility, the table on Saturday showed a filling level of 0 percent, but at the same time an increase in the filling quantity of 0.67 percentage points.

A spokesman for the Federal Network Agency had already given the all-clear on Saturday morning. “We consider this to be a data transmission error,” he said. Due to the warm weather, no gas is currently being withdrawn.

The level information is always reported with a delay. The 89.56 percent given on Saturday refers to the fill level on Thursday. (dpa)
