Friends Star Matthew Perry’s Ex Neve Campbell Steps Out in Los Angeles After His Shocking Death at 54

Neve Campbell, actress and former girlfriend of Friends star Matthew Perry, was seen in Los Angeles just one day after the shocking death of the beloved actor at the age of 54. Perry was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home on Saturday, with the cause of death still pending investigation.

Campbell, 50, and Perry dated during the filming of their 1999 romcom Three To Tango. The couple reportedly split before the movie was released the following year. Although they have never publicly addressed their relationship, Perry hinted at a past romance in his memoir, where he spoke about a former love and a painful breakup. He mentioned that the person he was referring to met him on a film set in 1999, the same year he worked on Three To Tango with Campbell.

Perry, who had battled with addiction in the past, had prescription drugs, including anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills, at his home at the time of his death. However, there were no illegal medications found. A police source revealed that the Friends star was also in possession of a prescription COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) drug. COPD medications are commonly used for individuals with conditions like emphysema or chronic bronchitis.

Perry had been open about his struggles with addiction and had expressed his desire to be remembered for his work in helping others dealing with similar issues. In a recent interview, he stated that he didn’t want Friends to be the first thing mentioned when he passed away. Instead, Perry wanted his legacy to be about his efforts in assisting those battling addiction.

In addition to his advocacy work, Perry had turned his Malibu mansion into a sober living facility for men in 2013, naming it ‘Perry’s House’. He also wrote a theater production called ‘The End of Longing’, which served as a personal message to those who have dealt with addiction.

Perry’s memoir, ‘Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing: A Candid, Darkly Funny Book’, delved into his struggles with addiction and the severe health consequences he faced. In 2018, at the age of 49, he suffered a gastrointestinal perforation due to his extreme opiate usage. Doctors gave him only a two percent chance of survival, and he had to use a colostomy bag while his colon healed.

Despite his battles with addiction and health issues, Perry’s talent and humor shone through in his iconic role as Chandler Bing in the hit 90s sitcom Friends. The actor will be remembered not only for his on-screen presence but also for his commitment to supporting others struggling with addiction.

Fans and friends mourn the loss of Matthew Perry, as his untimely death reminds us of the fragility of life and the importance of mental health awareness.
