This Monday, the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, reopened the Neves Bendinha Specialized General Hospital, in Luanda, after extensive rehabilitation, expansion and equipping works.
With this work, the also known “Hospital dos Queimados” gains an increase of 1,500 m2 of useful area and the total installation of 93 new beds, three laboratories, an Intensive Treatment Unit and Telemedicine.
Four new blocks were added to the old structure. All wards of the hospital underwent structural renovations, with the aim of providing greater functionality and comfort to environments, users and service teams.
Patients with burns who were being treated and those admitted to the Zango hospital, known as Casa Amarela, will begin to be transferred to the new facilities from this Tuesday (3).
After the unveiling of the plaque, the Vice-President of the Republic, accompanied by the Minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote, ministers, and the governor of Luanda, among other senior officials from the Ministry of Health, watched an institutional video that portrays the various phases of infrastructure rehabilitation and carried out a guided tour of the new facilities.
