Gary Neville, the club’s legend, has said that the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United has affected the performances of three players, including Bruno Fernandes. Neville says the arrival of a great player like Ronaldo has caused a sense of humiliation among players who have performed well.
Bruno, who played a key role in helping Manchester United finish second in the league with 18 goals last season, has scored just 10 goals this season. In addition to Bruno, Neville says Ronaldo’s presence has affected defender Harry Maguire and forward Edison Cavani.

“The player became a problem for Cavani at the start of the season. Cavani agreed to stay with the club and was set to lead the team’s offensive line this year. But when they brought Ronaldo to the team, Cavani’s story was over.
“When Ronaldo, who was considered a godfather in the Portuguese team, joined the team, Bruno became an old man and his sense of humiliation increased. As a captain, Maguire made the same changes, but Ronaldo did not do any of this.” Neville said while talking to Sky Sports.
Neville says Ronaldo’s joining the team comes as Maguire tries to cement his position as Manchester United captain. Neville says Maguire became someone else while wearing the Manchester United jersey and that Bruno was only half of the player he was last season.
