Argentine Tomas Contte won stage 8 of the Volta a Portugal, 182.4 kilometers between Viana do Castelo and Fafe. Aviludo Louletano’s team won from a big breakaway.

The peloton gave the green light to the cut with 27 riders, which lasted about twelve minutes. The leading group broke up on the last climb of the day and only 6 km from the finish were some of the chasing opportunity to reach the leader.
When he arrived, at a rapid pace on the rocks, Contte took revenge and won. It is worth remembering that a few days ago another Argentine, Nicolás Tivani, won, but in fact the plan was for Contte to do so.
Andoni Lopez and Rafael Reis completed the podium, while the peloton arrived at 10:25 and gave battle for tomorrow.
