New Ban for Parents Introduced Outside Several Schools

Similar plans are also being implemented in other municipalities across the country, including Stockholm. The red-green government in Stockholm has previously proposed stopping car traffic outside hundreds of schools and preschools. The main objective is to ensure the safety of children who walk or cycle to school and prevent traffic hazards caused by parents driving.
Lars Strömgren, the traffic councilor in Stockholm, emphasizes the importance of conducting these changes in good dialogue with principals and parents’ associations. He wants to ensure that the introduction of the ban does not feel imposed or forced upon the community.
