In relation to the formation of the Board of Directors of National Bank Limited and the appointment of directors to the Board, the instructions of the Banking Regulations and Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank have said that the Board of Directors of National Bank Limited has been abolished by virtue of section 47(1) and 48(1) of the Bank Companies Act, 1991 (amended up to 2025). done In order to protect the interest of the depositors and the bank and to ensure good banking governance and in the public interest, Bangladesh Bank has appointed Directors/Independent Directors to reconstitute the management of National Bank Limited under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank-Company Act, 1991.

Among the new seven members of the board of directors are three directors and four independent directors. The three directors are National Bank shareholder Abdul Awal Mintu, entrepreneur shareholder Moazzem Hossain and shareholder Zakaria Taher. Four independent directors are – former executive director of Bangladesh Bank.
