The approval rating of newly elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reached its lowest level since the parliamentary elections amid ongoing mass unrest in the country, The Telegraph reports, citing a survey by Savanta, Day.Az reports, citing Gazeta.ru.

“As unrest spreads across the UK, his popularity with the public is at its lowest since the election,” said Chris Hopkins, director of political research at Savanta.

According to the study, the highest approval rating for the current prime minister was recorded on July 28, the day before the riots began. By August 4, the figures had dropped significantly, the report notes. The proportion of Britons who disapprove of Starmer’s policies has also increased.

The Telegraph does not specify how many Britons took part in the survey.

In late July, a teenager attacked children with a knife during a dance and yoga class in Southport. In total, nine children were injured in the attack, three of whom could not be saved, as well as two adults. After the attack, information was spread that the suspect was a refugee.

The revelations sparked unrest in several British cities. Supporters of the far-right English Defence League clashed with police at a protest in Southport.
