New Buell Super Cruiser 1190 2025, a 175 hp sporty custom and featherweight

by time news

Buell Motorcycles has announced the launch of a new model within its limited range of motorcycles. To the already existing 1190 SX and Hammerhead 1190 -a naked and a superbike that share the same V2 Rotax engine-, the North American firm has just confirmed the incorporation of a third model with a custom cut and sporty spirit, a motorcycle developed in collaboration with the Californian preparer, Roland Sands.

Details offered by Buell thus far are scant; we know that his trade name will be Buell Super Cruiser, and that its arrival on the market is scheduled for some time in 2025, and although the North American brand accepts reservations worth $50, It has not yet communicated what price it will have in its home market.

The engine of this Super Cruiser is the same liquid-cooled 72º V-Twin that is already mounted on the 1190 SX and Hammerhead family, a veteran engine developed at the time by the Austrian firm Rotax that cubic 1190 cc and is capable of developing a power of 175 hp in the case of this Super Cruiser, which translates into a top speed close to 250 km/h.

For the chassis, Buell has developed a newly designed tubular steel frame, and while the rear swingarm does appear to be the same as the one used on the 1190 SX, Roland Sands had to work on it in order to fit it into the newly designed chassis.

The total weight of the set is only 202 kilos without filling the fuel tank, undoubtedly an excellent figure for a custom model of such displacement and power. By comparison, a modern Harley Sportster weighs 20 kilos more (221 kg dry).

The Buell Super Cruiser is a motorcycle designed to be fast, and for this purpose they have installed 17-inch wheels on both axles with sport-cut tires; the fork has a contained advance to be a custom-inspired model, and if we talk about brakes, we find a huge perimeter disc in the typical Buell front end, bitten by a no less gigantic 8-piston caliper.

The Bell Super Cruiser will arrive in the catalog of the North American brand in two years, coinciding with the launch of two other new models from Bill Melvin’s firm that its enthusiasts are looking forward to: the Buell Baja ($19,995) and the futuristic trail Buell Super Touring ($21,995), two novelties that should reach their dealers before 2026.
