New Bus Terminal for Government Buses in Chennai – Complaint Redressal and Dissatisfaction

by time news

CHENNAI: 80 percent of the government buses plying from Chennai Koyambed via Chengalpattu will be operated from Klambach and 20 percent from Madhavaram from today. Transport Minister Sivashankar has said that the out-of-town buses will no longer go to Koyambedu.

As a solution to the congestion at Chennai Koyambedu suburban bus station, a new bus terminal was constructed at a cost of Rs 393.71 crore on 88 acres and inaugurated on December 30 last.

Complaint Redressal

Following that, omni buses were also shifted to Klambach from Jan. 24. Ever since the opening of Clambakkam Bus Terminal, connecting buses to various parts of Chennai have not been available in sufficient numbers.

In this regard, in order to resolve the complaints of the passengers, the transport corporations and the CMDA are taking various steps.

In this case, the transport department has decided to operate other transport corporation buses including Villupuram route from Koyambed from Klambach from today. Hence, all the buses going towards southern districts will be operated from Klambach from today.

Meanwhile, the list of buses operating to outlying areas has been published yesterday.

Regarding this, Transport Minister Sivashankar issued a statement yesterday:

Government Rapid Transport Corporation buses and Omni buses are plying from Vandalur next to Klambach.

In this case, from today all the buses of all types of transport corporations will be shifted to Klambach. Buses plying from Koyambedu bus station via Chengalpattu and Tindivanam will not ply from today.

That is, 710 buses going to southern districts via Chengalpattu and Tindivanam will depart from Klambach.

From Madhavaram, buses will be run to Salem, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Kumbakonam, Puducherry, Polur, Trichy, Tiruvannamalai, Vrudhachalam and Cuddalore districts. 160 buses will depart from Madhavaram.

Hence, 80 percent buses will ply from Klambach and 20 percent from Madhavaram from today.

Those traveling to southern districts no longer need to go to Koyambedu bus stand. The clambakum should only go to the new terminal.

Only buses coming from southern districts to Chennai Klambakh will be operated till Tambaram for the convenience of passengers. After dropping the passenger, it will return to Clambake and pick up the passenger from there.

This is what he said in it.

Dissatisfaction

The traveler said:

Complaints about non-availability of connecting buses have arisen even as Government Rapid Transport Corporation buses and Omni buses ply from Clambakkam New Bus Terminal. Currently,

More than 700 buses belonging to Villupuram, Kumbakonam and Salem Transport Corporations have also been replaced. Due to this, there will be space crunch in Clambakkam and Madhavaram. Passengers will suffer to come and go.

At least 50 percent of the buses to Koyambed can be plyed till the construction of Klambakkam railway station. But these changes happen at a rapid pace.

Thus they said.
