Kieran Pollard, the former captain of the West Indies white cricket team, recently announced his retirement from international cricket.
With two important ICC series scheduled for the T20 World Cup and next year’s ODI World Cup later this year, the West Indies were forced to appoint a quality player as captain.
Nicholas Pooran has been named captain of the West Indies white cricket team. Pooran, who made his West Indies T20I debut in 2016, was also named in the ODI team in 2019.
Puran has played 37 ODIs and 57 T20I matches for the West Indies. The West Indies will take part in the T20 World Cup in Australia in a few months under the captaincy of Puran, who is also a huge hitter for the Sunrisers in the IPL.
