Sukkot in Jerusalem: from the blessing of the priests to the joy of Beit HaShuava • All events

The original song received a new, electronic and up-to-date arrangement that would suit the ears of the year 2008, combining musical motifs from the previous arrangement.

The musicians and arrangers Shmuel Yaft and Ami Cohen are jointly responsible for the arrangement.

Along with the renewed song, a music video full of energy, colorful and lively is also released, which was directed and edited by Sharoli Broncher and photographed by Yitzhak Kalman.

And in case you ask yourself: “What is the ‘audience'”?

The lyrics of the song are taken from a number of passages in which the Torah commands that the ‘congregation’ be held in the temple once every 7 years, at the end of the Shmita year on Sukkot. In the special occasion, which was attended by the entire people of Israel, women and children alike, the King of Israel would stand on the platform of the Ezra in the Temple, read the Torah and then also explain the things to the crowd. The goal was to unite the people, to awaken them to the fear and love of God and to become stronger in keeping the mitzvot.

As then, even today it is possible to make a ‘remember’ for the mitzvot of the audience. to gather together, unite and stir the hearts of the people of Israel out of joy. This is exactly what Simcha Friedman is trying to do in the new music video.
