The bill on resettlement of emergency housing is planned to be submitted to the State Duma at the very first working meeting. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told reporters about this.

The need to launch a new program for resettlement of emergency housing was announced yesterday by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He proposed to allocate 45 billion rubles for this.

“This is a landmark political decision,” Khusnullin said. He recalled that now the country has a program of resettlement of houses recognized as emergency until January 2017. It is ahead of schedule, nine regions have finished it ahead of schedule. But in recent years, another 11 million square meters of housing have been recognized as emergency. The resettlement program for such houses is capital-intensive, Khusnullin emphasized. The budget allocated 460 billion rubles for the previous program.

Now that it has been decided to launch a program for resettlement of housing recognized as emergency by January 1, 2021, the budget will allocate 45 billion rubles for this for the next three years, Khusnullin explained. Approaches to the program are now being discussed with the State Duma, Khusnullin said – how and under what conditions the program will be continued. A bill on this is planned to be submitted to the first working meeting of the State Duma. “By the end of the year, we would like to have a legislative basis for further work,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
