This Thursday, September 12, 2024, Rameau Normil, Acting General Manager of the Haitian National Police (PNH), together with members of the PNH High Command, welcomed at Toussaint Louverture International Airport a new contingent of police officers and soldiers from Jamaica and Belize. This delegation is part of the reinforcements intended to support the Kenyan troops already on site, within the framework of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS).

Mr. Normil was accompanied by Chief Inspector General Frantz Thermilus, Inspector General Peyo Smith, as well as Inspector General Godfrey Otunga, Head of the MMSS. Divisional Commissioner Michel Ange Louis Jeune and Agent 4 Lionel Lazarre, respectively Spokesperson and Deputy Spokesperson of the PNH, were also present to welcome this new unit.

This deployment of police officers and soldiers aims to support the Haitian National Police in its fight against criminal gangs that sow terror among the civilian population.

As a reminder, a first contingent of Kenyan police officers landed on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, on the tarmac of Toussaint Louverture International Airport. This first group, composed of 400 officers who arrived aboard a Kenya Airways plane, marked the beginning of a crucial mission.

A second contingent of 200 Kenyan police officers arrived in the country on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, aboard an Omni Air International plane.
