The Naft Maysan football team has completed its preparations for the Iraq Stars League competitions for the current season (2023-2024) and the cup championship.

The director of the media office of the Naft Maysan Club (Khaled Wahem) told the (INA): “The Naft Maysan football team attracted three new players, and they are both (Haider Abdul Rahim) coming from the Najaf Club and the Nigerian (Fidelis Koko) coming from the Haras Club. The Egyptian and Nigerian border (Maarouf Youssef), coming from the National Bank of Egypt club.”
He added, “The team held a training camp in Baghdad, during which it conducted several trial matches. In the first match, it faced the Al-Talaba team, which ended in a scoreless draw. It faced the Al-Kahraba team in its second match, in which it achieved a 3-0 victory scored by the newcomer, Haider Abdel Rahim. At the end of The training camp met with the friendly Al-Wasat Oil team, and ended with our team winning by one goal to none, which came from the Nigerian professional (Benjamin Akor).”
It is noteworthy that the Maysan Oil team ranks fifth in the Iraq Stars League team standings for the current season with (18) points.
