According to reports, about 230,000 passengers were registered on 1,422 flights during Friday at Istanbul Airport. Authorities explained that the high number is due to the high number of Muslim tourists who came to Istanbul and at the same time the departure of Muslim residents living in Istanbul to their homeland to spend the holiday with their families. It should be noted that Turkish airports usually register a heavy load during the holidays and summer vacation due to the high influx of tourists.
As part of a return to routine after the corona, Turkish Airlines announced a few days ago the resumption of tours it organizes for transit passengers to Istanbul’s important historical and cultural sites. Turkish Airlines said in a statement that it had resumed work on the “Turinbul” project after a hiatus due to the corona plague. Turkish Airlines organizes free tours for international transit passengers, whose waiting times at Istanbul Airport range from 6 to 24 hours.
