In a significant advance towards more efficient and participatory planning, a total of 26 territorial entities in the department of Sucre responded to the call from National Planning to join the national launch of the Territorial Planning System (SisPT). This digital tool, designed for the construction and monitoring of Territorial Development Plans, is now available for the technical teams of mayors and governorates.

The SisPT is presented as a fundamental input, allowing municipalities and departments to improve their diagnoses territorial and develop strategic plans. Thanks to massive loads of information and interoperability with other systems, control panels and methodological guides, the aim is to streamline the process of formulating and monitoring plans.

Hugo Guerra, Deputy Director General of Decentralization and Territorial Development of the DNP, said: “What we are trying to do is move from technical assistance to technical cooperation. “We want to improve the experience of the territories so that they achieve their goals.”

During the national presentation, Erika Londoño, deputy director of Territorial Planning of the DNP, detailed the capabilities of SisPT and encouraged the massive participation of territorial entities. She highlighted that the tool facilitates the formulation of Territorial Development Plans, reducing information search times and streamlining their execution and monitoring.

The SisPT is divided into two parts: the first provides inputs for the formulation of plans, including diagnostic modules, public policy guidelines, citizen participation tools, guides, reports and bulletins. The second part focuses on the formulation and monitoring of plans, with new functionalities such as the mass upload of product indicators and associations with indicators of the National Development Plan.

Prior to the national launch, a discussion was held with the participation of the deputy director of the DNP, Hugo Guerra, the Secretary of the Interior of the Government of Sucre, Carlos Navarro, and the Mayor of San Pedro, Germán Manjarrés.
